It's time for college football (GO BUCKS!)...my favorite time of year. Autumn begins on the 22nd. Kids are back in school, but not ours...it's hard to believe that Amy has been out of high school for 12 years already. Zachary starts kindergarten next year. I think he's ready now. Not only can he do the ABC's forward, he does them backwards as well. My sister Bonnie used to be able to do that. She also knew Pig-Latin, how to twirl a baton and sing. She should have been on America's Got Talent doing baton twirling while singing her ABC's backwards in Pig-Latin. I'll talk with her about that one. She's a real ham...(maybe that explains the Pig-Latin). We love you Bonnie!
Karen's step-mother Shirlene passed away in August. After the funeral her Dad had to take their dog Misty to the vet and have her put down. Needless to say, it was a day her Dad struggled with.
Those celebrating Birthdays this month are: David Saunders on the 4th, Emily Taylor on the 7th (she's a teenager now!), Emily Schwab on the 9th, Patrick Ghaster on the 18th and last but definitely not least is my big brother, Tom Ghaster. He turns 72 on the 26th. Happy Birthday to all of you and may God Bless.
There are a few couples celebrating anniversaries this month: Tom & Sue Ghaster on the 1st, Brian & Liz Taylor on the 5th. Happy Anniversary to you both.

August 2009
August represents the start of shorter daylight, pre-season football, back-to-school sales and such. August 1973 is when I entered the Air Force, August 1977 Elvis died. August ... the dog days of summer. A few weeks ago we attended an FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association) rally in Bowling Green (OH). This was our 1st time and even though we both worked through the week, we still enjoyed the time spent going to seminars and looking at Motorhomes only an Oil Tycoon could afford. I entered a Corn Hole tournament and met some really great people from all over the U.S. and Canada. Joe and Penny came down to visit all the way from Maumee and we had a great time cooking out, getting ice cream and playing cards.
Those celebrating Birthday this Month are: Mike Ende on the 1st, Lydia Ghaster on the 5th, Matt Ende on the 6th...and last on the 7th someone turns the BIG 70...(not to worry Billie, I won't mention your name). Happy Birthday and God Bless you all!!
Happy Anniversary this month to Dave and Bonnie Saunders. Theirs is the 19th of the month.
We love you both and wish you the very best!
Life is not a problem to be solved, but a gift to be enjoyed.

Born on the 4th of July!!

July is here, a time to celebrate all of the freedoms given us as Americans. Remember that these came at a cost, a cost of many men and women who fought in our armed forces and gave the ultimate sacrifice...their lives, so that we can live on enjoying ours. God Bless America!
This month we were able to once again celebrate Zach's 4th birthday on the 4th with family and friends. Amy and Russell would like to thank all of you for helping in the celebration.
We enjoy seeing everyone together. A great time was had by all. We are able to post some pictures to share with you.
Others celebrating birthdays this month are: the 12th Justin Schwab, on the 19th Alex Ende and on the 26th Tim Young. Happy Birthday to all!

June...at last!

It's been several months since my last entry. A lot has happened since then, one of which is a God-Sent, a beautiful Granddaughter, Addison Marie Bennett. Born on April 10th which just happened to be our 33rd wedding anniversary. What a wonderful gift! Zach has been a great help in his role as the big brother, helping Mom and Dad with such things as getting her boppy or her blanket and such. We skype Amy nearly every day to watch Addison progress in these early months. Skype is truly awesome when keeping in touch.
July 2nd Amy, Russell, Zach and Addison are coming to Nana and Papa's house (can't wait) to celebrate Zachary's 4th Birthday on July 4th and Papa gets to see Addison for the first time. Time to spoil and love this time with her until probably Christmas or so.

March On!
In like a lion, out like a lamb. It's raining cats and dogs, a bird in the hand, dog eat dog, more fun than a barrel full of monkeys...sorry, all of those animal adages get me on a roll. March is winters' last hurrah. Like everyone else we are awaiting Spring.
Unlike February, March is full of Birthday's, Jim Taylor on the 1st, Bonnie Saunders and Julia Ende on the 5th, Jillian Ende on the 6th, Rene Meyer on the 14th, Mia Young on the 19th, Dr. Gregory Schwab on the 31st...I think that's it...oh I almost forgot...Erin Leigh Ghaster will be 26 on March 3rd. Happy Birthday to everyone celebrating this month. God Bless each and every one of you.
As many of you know in November of 1970 my brother Larry was tragically taken from us at the young age of 19, along with his fiancee, Betty. I crossed paths this past week with a childhood friend of Larry's, he shared many stories from their past, most of which were very funny, most of them I had never known about. Thank you Norb "Butch".
Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll ask "who's paying for the license"?

February
Not much to report. Looking for work...other than the proverbial "honey-do-list(s)" although it does save on gas. Cabin fever is setting in and we can't wait until spring.
Steelers won the Superbowl. Wave those "terrible towels". I'm a Browns fan, so I can't get too excited. Have a great Valentines Day! There is only 1 birthday this Month (unless I missed someone) Karen's sister Deb Ende. Happy Birthday Debra!! Hope to see ya soon.
Amy is doing fine. Getting big, but still no name for our Granddaughter yet. They still have a couple more months to decide. Zachary will make a very good big brother.
Take care and God Bless!
Experts tell me "I am" is the shortest sentance in the English language. If you ask me, "I do" is the longest sentance
